This is my first blog post here on this new site, which I am making after a long time. 

This website was started because of my idea to start a blog dedicated just for Indian television commercials. It used to attract about 20-30 visitors daily and on some fridays it would be as many as 100 visitors. 

I thought, hmm, not a bad idea to convert the site into a user powered website where people can comment and communicate about ads. Hence, came about this web 2.0 concept of ads. I had dreams of making this the next Indian Idol of Ads. That was then - 2 years ago. 

It took about 5 months of development using 3 developers with a seed money of about $3,000 to get this up and running and so far, I made 250$ till now. That is not a monthly revenue, but the amount of money I made ever since I started monetizing it. Spectacular returns, isnt it?

And then, it also got a measly followers of 66! Out of which 50+ are my own friends. It never got viral and I am now thinking if it would ever take off too. By running a website with a CTR of about 0.001, there is not much potential for money. Not to mention, the bad link building strategy of this website, because there are more outgoing links than incoming.

After 5 years of being hosted on a blogger and almost 2 years of having its own hosting space, the page rank of this site is 0 (zilch, zero, nada...) and probably no street cred, I am not feeling the love anymore.

Hold on, the love to monetize is reducing, but not my love for ads. I think I will have to rejuvenate my efforts to blog about ads again - I am not going to just depend on people to just link a youtube video over here - thats not what this site is for - its to provide real value, and that is content, the context around an ad, the experience of watching it, the emotions it evoke when you watch a clever ad. Thats what this is about, not just a bunch of links.
